ORLANDO, Fla. – Competing together for the first time since last February, the women's golf team carded a combined 6-over par 294 in the opening round of the UCF Challenge on Sunday. Playing at Eagle Creek Golf Club, Purdue sits 14th in the team standings after the first day.
Individually, freshman Sifat Sagoo paced the Boilermakers, shooting an even-par 72 Sunday. She offset three bogeys with three birdies and sits in a tie for 31st in the player standings.
Sophomore Danielle du Toit ended the first round with a 1-over 73 and is tied for 45th, while junior Inez Wanamarta is tied for 57th with an opening-round score of 2-over par 74.
Thitapa Pakdeesettakul, who transferred to Purdue from Kent State, played the opening 18 holes 3-over par with a 75. Freshman Kan Bunnabodee, who rallied to shoot a 1-under par 36 on the back nine, rounded out the scoring with a 4-over 76 Sunday.
The Boilermakers return to action Monday with tee times beginning at 8:50 a.m. ET.
