Indiana University is in its 121st season of competition in men's basketball and opens the doors of Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall for the 50th season. The Hoosiers will host arch-rival Purdue on Thursday night. IU is coming off an 84-76 win at Nebraska on Sunday.

THE COACHES
Indiana Coach Archie Miller is in his fourth season of guiding the Cream and Crimson and is 63-48 with the Hoosiers and earned career win 200 against Penn State. He is 202-111 in nine+ years as a head coach, which includes six years at the University of Dayton. His Flyer teams made NCAA Tournament appearances in each of his last four seasons, including a trip to the Elite Eight in 2014. Purdue is led by Matt Painter who is in his 16th year in West Lafayette and has a 345-178 record
JACKSON-DAVIS LIVING UP TO EXPECTATIONS
Sophomore forward Trayce Jackson-Davis ranks among B1G leaders in scoring, rebounds, field goal percentage and blocked shots. He was named Big Ten Co-Player of the Week (2nd honor this season) on Monday after averaging 20.0 points and 12.7 rebounds in 3 games last week, all double-double efforts. His most dominant performance this season was a 25-point, 17-rebound effort at Florida State. He had a career-high 31 points in the win over Stanford in the 3rd place game at Maui. He had 22 points and 15 boards against Maryland, followed that up with 23 points and 12 boards at Wisconsin and then had 15 points and 11 boards at Nebraska. He is a Preseason All-Big Ten pick and was just named to the Wooden Award Mid-season Watch List. He has had 17 career double-doubles. The Hoosiers are 14-3 when he reaches that milestone. He is averaging 20.1 points, 9.3 rebounds while shooting 53.2% from the floor and a team-high 25 blocks this season. He is the only Hoosier in the last 25 years to have 3 games of 25 points and 15 rebounds (at Minnesota, Nebraska). He leads the nation in FTs made (79) and in attempts (111).
He is rated 2nd in the KenPom Player of the Year rankings (1.612) behind Iowa's Luke Garza (1.949) and ahead of Illinois' Ayo Dosunmu (1.552).
VETERAN BACKCOURT STEPPING UP
Senior guard Aljami Durham is averaging 15.8 points in the last 4 games. He is shooting 38.0 from long distance in that time frame. He had 18 points against Penn State, 17 points at Nebraska and 15 points at Wisconsin. He also has 14 assists and 7 assists in those games.
Junior guard Rob Phinisee, a Lafayette native, had a career-high 18 points at Nebraska. He has made 5 of his last 12 three-pointers (41.7) and has averaged 14.0 points in the last 2 games. He also has had 14 assists and 8 assists in the last four games.
He is the first scholarship recruit from Lafayette to play for the Hoosiers since 1948. (Bob Masters and Charlie Vaughn).
