Athlete of the Week: Dasia Thornton (Cincinnati, Ohio) Transylvania University | Forward | Junior - The junior posted a career-high 16 points in Transylvania's 66-44 win over Mount St. Joseph on Thursday and collected a double-double in Saturday's 58-55 loss at the Lions. In 15 minutes of play, Thornton tallied a career-best 16 points on 6-for-8 shooting from the field, adding 6 rebounds and an assist while knocking down 4 of 5 free throws. Thornton followed up the efficient performance with another 12 points off the bench Saturday, hitting on 5 of 7 field-goal attempts and hitting both of her free throws. Thornton added 10 rebounds and a block in 24 minutes of play. For the week, Thornton totaled 28 points, 16 rebounds, 1 assist, and 1 block and shot 11 for 15 from the field (73 percent) while connecting on 6 of 7 free throws. Notable Performances:

  • Lexi Dellinger (Berne, Ind.) Anderson University | Guard | Junior - Dellinger notched 25 points, four assists and six rebounds on Friday. She then provided nine points and three assists on Saturday. For the week, Dellinger averaged 16 points, 3.5 assists, four rebounds and one block.

  • Brianna Gillig (New Riegel, Ohio) Bluffton University | Forward | Junior - Gillig led the Beavers to a sweep of Earlham, averaging 15.0 PPG and 5.5 RPG thanks to a double-double of 15 points and 10 rebounds on Saturday.

  • Macy Miller (Huntertown, Ind.) Manchester University | Forward | Junior - Miller averaged 15.5 ppg and 8.0 rpg in a 1-1 week for the Spartans. In Friday's 63-55 win at Anderson, Miller collected her first career double-double, ending the night with team-highs of 19 points and 11 rebounds. She added 12 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 blocks in MU's narrow, two-point defeat on Saturday.
